About Medical Art Resources
RESTORING CONFIDENCE WITH LIFE-LIKE PROSTHETICS
Medical Art Resources is a team of specialists in Clinical Anaplastology with an international reputation for excellence in prosthetic design and patient service. Our custom-made reconstructive prostheses are designed for an exact fit and are nearly indistinguishable from your natural anatomy. Our work is cutting edge, combining art and medical science with technology and engineering. Patients come to us for an auricular prosthesis (prosthetic ear), ocular and orbital prosthesis (prosthetic eye and eyelids), or nasal prosthesis (prosthetic nose), in addition to prosthetic fingers and hands, prosthetic toes, and custom prosthetic nipples. We also provide bra fitting and breast prostheses for those seeking post-mastectomy and gender affirming care.
Medical Art Resources was established in 1988 by Julie Jordan Brown, today a distinguished leader in the field of anaplastology. Beginning with facial prosthetics, over time Medical Art Resources has expanded its scope of practice to somatic (body) prostheses, as well as related specialty items such as custom surgical guides and digital planning and custom athletic face masks. Medical Art Resources was the first practice in the state to partner with surgeons at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin and University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison to create implant-retained facial prostheses. Our staff has grown along with our patient demand. We are always exploring new ways to build our team so that we can continue to provide innovative state-of-the-art prosthetic solutions to our patients for many years to come.
As our team has grown over the past fifteen years, so has the area we serve. We now see patients in

Michaela Calhoun, MS, CCA
Clinical Director
Michaela’s goal as clinical director is to foster an environment where patients can gain the full benefit of our anaplastologists’ talent and compassion. She oversees the operation of the clinic and ensures that patients are provided with the highest quality of care. Michaela facilitates communication between the Medical Art Resources team, our patients, and their healthcare providers so that no detail is missed. She is motivated by the creative problem-solving process and believes that there is always something new to learn!
Michaela studied anaplastology at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she earned both a bachelor of fine art and a master of science degree. She is also the owner of Prosthetics at Graphica Medica in West Saint Paul, MN where she practices anaplastology. In addition to her clinical work, Michaela is passionate about her work with several organizations that work to advance the visibility and continual evolution of the field of anaplastology. Certified Clinical Anaplastologist
As a Certified Clinical Anaplastologist, Megan works with referring providers and patients through the entire treatment process to design, fit, and fabricate all types of prostheses. She enjoys meeting with patients for initial consultations to develop individualized treatment plans and following up with patients to ensure continuity of care. Megan applies her love of detail to sculpting and color matching to produce high quality prostheses that are made with care.
Megan has an undergraduate degree in studio art from Kenyon College and a master’s degree in Biomedical Visualization and Anaplastology from the University of Illinois, Chicago, graduating with highest honors. On the personal side, Megan enjoys taking long neighborhood walks (keeping an eye out for bakeries along the way) and visiting national parks for hiking and camping. Megan and her husband are new parents who look forward to bringing their little one along on their outdoor adventures. Fun anaplastology trivia: Megan once dreamed that she was a piece of a mold for an ear prosthesis, determined to squeeze into place to make an ear.
